The Inspiration

For a little while I've had this strange calling now: "Must go to Seattle, must go to Seattle, must go to Seattle..."
Very strange... But I usually listen to these ghostly voices of mine.
Being a Canadian citizen living in Canada, I got out my passport to see how long it would still be good for.
Yikes! It had just expired two weeks ago! I didn't ask any questions, filled out an application form the same day and made my way down to the local Service Canada office. I paid the ridiculous fee, made no fuss about it though (who likes complainers anyway) and spoke to my partner in life that we really "must go to Seattle" this summer.

Then, today, this last Sunday of February 2010, the day of the Olympic closing ceremonies, I heard an ad on the radio: "... cycle from Vancouver to Seattle... raise funds... support the BC Cancer Foundation!"
That explains a lot!

This is what I've learned about last year's event:

I absolutely, positively want to do this! I've been looking for a cause bigger than me for such a long time now. In the past there was always a but: "We are closed during the holidays." - "The deadline was last Tuesday." - "We had to cancel the fundraiser."

On the BC Cancer Foundation's Website it says something like:
"All you need is a helmet, tons of dedication, a bike, and you're in!"
I have all that and then some!
Still in the afterglow of many teary eyed Olympic recaps I am wondering:
Where do I sign up?  When are we leaving?
